    Project: Step 0
    In this project, learners build substeps up to Step 0 in Problem Solving, Creativity and Staying Positive as they consider: What do you treasure? They reflect on what makes their learning environment special and what they treasure! Learners design, plan, and lead their own ‘Explorer Treasure Hunt’.

    In this project, learners build Step 0 in Listening, Creativity and Teamwork as they consider: What shall we wear? They explore the world of fashion and costumes by designing and making their very own hats and tops.

    In this project, learners build Steps 0 and 1 in Speaking, Creativity and Aiming High as they consider: How can we celebrate art? They create and curate a whole-group gallery of their own artwork.

    Over the course of the challenge, learners apply Step 0 in four of the eight essential skills as they consider: Can you design a new type of transport? They apply Problem Solving and Creativity to research different environments and modes of transport. Then, they apply Leadership and Teamwork to design and build a model of a new form of transport.

    Over the course of the challenge, learners apply Step 0 in four of the eight essential skills as they consider: What would it be like to live on the moon? They apply Listening and Speaking to research space and plan their new city. Then, they apply Problem Solving and Creativity to design moon creatures and rockets.

    Over the course of the challenge, learners apply Step 0 in four of the eight essential skills as they consider: What is art? They apply Problem Solving and Creativity to decide on a theme for their art gallery and create miniature, themed artwork. Then, they apply Leadership and Teamwork to build a model of their art gallery building and share their galleries with the rest of the class.

    Challenge Day: Step 0
    Over the course of the challenge, learners apply Step 0 in four of the eight essential skills as they consider: ‘How can we welcome and include others?’ They apply Problem Solving and Creativity skills to explore an alien crash site on the school grounds and imagine what the aliens look like. Then, they apply Leadership and Teamwork to welcome the aliens and tell them about our world before saying goodbye to the aliens at the end of the day.
